You can create a whole atmosphere without it being there'.

Agathe Danon (BE °1996), Alexander Deprez (BE °1995), Igor van de Poel (BE °1973) and Bas Bogaerts (BE °1979), four passionate photographers, show us their world through portraits that each in their own way tell a story to the public.

The work of the three international Designers in Residence Emilie Froelich (FR °1992), Jadd Hallaj (SY/US °1996) and Elena Falomo (IT °1993) is based on a research of 4 months living and working in our region. They investigated the Kortrijk islands and show their vision for the future of these places. Immerse yourself in the atmospheres of these promising artists.

Bas Bogaerts

As a photographer bas loves to mingle with people. He loves small, everyday behaviors of people in their natural context, and allowing natural light to capture the real atmosphere. Bas works as a press and documentary photographer at home and abroad for Knack and De Morgen, and he doesn't shy away from a shot of tear gas or water from a cannon. Specializes in defense and social themes.

Igor van de Poel

As a child Igor van de Poel dreamed of becoming a photographer. After a big detour, he only went after his dream a year ago. Not much later, he was voted photographer of the year at the International Color Awards. The International Color Awards is a competition for professional and amateur photographers from all over the world. Winners are chosen in different niches such as abstract photography, portraits, photojournalism, as well as three overall winners. Igor was one of the three photographers chosen across all categories as photographer of the year. On top of that, he was elected winner in the photojournalism branch.

Alexander Deprez

Alexander Deprez was born in Kortrijk. And studied photography at Sint-Lucas Ghent. His work allows the viewer a peek into his private life, his view of the world, the intimate relationship with his wife. His photographs are voyeuristic and often leave you with an uneasy feeling. The analog images he makes with his pocket camera are raw, direct and in-your-face. His work tries to defy the social norms that keep people from being themselves.

Agathe Danon

Without context, you would almost think that Agathe's photographs were ripped right out of a glossy magazine. They grab the attention, are vivid and appeal enormously to the imagination. You can easily make up your own story with each photo, and it is hard to look away before you have done so. Lively, light, colorful photos that depict situations that could be described as the opposite. But above all, give it your own interpretation.
