As an extension to the Designers in Residence Kortrijk and to internationalize Week van het Ontwerpen, Designregio Kortrijk organizes ‘We are the next generation’, where recently graduated master students from notable international schools, give a lecture or workshop on their research to various target groups (business leaders, students, designers, creatives). We consider ‘We are the next generation’ as a new form to bring knowledge of future experts to Flanders and the region.

Our first Next Generation Designer, Bram Vanderbeke is a maker, and as a maker he tries to find an interaction between materials, people and their surroundings and provides in this way a renewed vision on the future. He is an observer, and create or direct spaces within the space. Spaces in many possible scales.
